Joshua Dempsey

A bit about Josh

Joshua Dempsey graduated from Western Oregon University in 2018 with a B.S. in Exercise Science, and minors in Human Biology and Psychology. During his time at Western Oregon he participated in Cross Country, and Track & Field, acquiring multiple All-American accolades. Overcoming injuries during his time in collegiate athletics lead him to taking more interest in injury prevention techniques, injury rehabilitation, and pain management in order to achieve peak performance. Understanding the experience of having acute injuries and chronic pain, he is eager to help others overcome their own struggles with pain and injuries.

Josh has always had a curiosity for human anatomy and physiology, and an increasing interest in physical therapy and other forms of naturopathic medicine aimed at helping others live a happy and healthy life. He has hopes of running his own practice in a future related specialty.

Mara Moranz

A bit about Mara

Mara began getting involved in fitness and movement as a child through dance and gymnastics training. Having an innate passion for the intertwining nature of the physical self and psyche, Mara has been a student of yoga for ten years and trained professionally as a dancer for thirteen years.

Her passion has fostered an emphasis on understanding the different bio-mechanical functions of our bodies, and finding ways to communicate these ideas so that we can strive to heal through movement. She received her personal training certification to further broaden her knowledge about the different modalities of healing, physical movement, and achieving one’s health goals. Mara is excited to be a part of the team here at Tigard Physical Therapy.

Victoria VanPuyvelde

M.A. Psychology

200-Hour YTT

A bit about Victoria

Victoria grew up playing volleyball and running track. In college, she competed in triathlons and cycling events. After college, she completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Gayatri Yoga Academy. Wilderness Therapy kept her in the southwest, and teaching yoga and meditation kept her overseas. When she returned home, she broke her elbow – resulting in surgery and plenty of physical therapy herself. She was amazed by her experience and recovery with physical therapy.

Victoria is passionate about health and aims to feel vibrant every day. Her hope working with patients in PT is for others to feel the same way. She hopes to involve yoga, mindfulness, and personal connection in her practice. Victoria’s yoga teaching style specializes in Ashtanga, Iyengar, and Trauma-informed yoga.

There is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.
